Once you have drawn your 45 and 90-degree angles you will then need to add a large circle inside it making sure that it fits snugly inside the angles as shown below.

How to draw a Elephant calf sitting in water Notice how the circle touch's all three of the lines that form your 45-degree angle. This is important as it will help you get the proportions of your bathing baby elephants body correct.

Seated-Baby-Elephant-in-River-Step-3 With that done you will then need to draw a large hoop shape at the top of the circle. Make sure that the solid back edge of the hoop starts about 23rds of the way over the circle, and the open end of the hoop touch's the line that forms your 45-degree angle. Also, make sure that the bottom line of the hoop sits just below the line of the circle. See below.
The reason for this will become more clear as we progress.

Baby Elephant bath time: Drawing the baby Elephants head.

The first thing you need to do is to draw the basic outline of the elephants head. To do this you will need to closely follow the steps below.

Seated-Baby-Elephant-in-River-Step-4 Step 1: To draw the basic shape of the elephants head you need to imagine the wider part at the front of its head as a circle and the narrower part at the back as an oval. Doing this you will enable you to form the shape more easily.

Step 2: In the next step the first thing you will notice is that I have slightly adjusted the back of my elephants head. To do this I made the oval shape at the back narrower and sloped my circle more to meet it. This was done by preference as I felt it gave a more convincing shape to the elephants head. However, it is not compulsory.

Drawing the baby Elephants ear.

With the head drawn you'll then need to add a smaller circle, as can be seen above in the top back corner. This will be used as a basic shape to form an ear. After you have done that you will need to draw a curving line on the bottom edge of the elephants head as shown in the example. This will form the cheek and eye socket. Its basically a hoop shape with the ends flared out.

Step 3: Next, extend the lines at the front of the elephants head to form the starting points for its trunk. Once this is done add the other ear as can be seen in the example above and below. You will also need to add a small circle inside the hooped part of the curved line. This will to form the eye as shown also.

Now you have drawn the basic baby elephants head you are now ready to follow the next steps below to add its trunk and legs.

Continuing with the lines that you extended in step 3, first draw a long curved line from point X. Continue it to about halfway down the elephant's body making sure that you curve it up at its end. You will then need to do the same from point Y. As you draw your curve this time make sure that it narrows toward the end of the elephant's trunk and again, curve it up slightly. With that done you can then join the two ends up to form the end of the elephant's trunk.

Adding the baby Elephants legs.

How to draw animals. The next thing to do is to draw in its legs. This is very easy to do as it only involves drawing a few more lines to finish the outline of your bathing baby elephant. The first thing to do is to draw a short curved line on the bottom of your elephant's trunk. Shown in red in the example.

Finally, draw in his back leg shown in green. As you can see in the example, the elephants back leg (shown in green) meets the edge of the large circle that you drew earlier and forms the complete body shape. Now all that's left to do is to join the end of each leg together with a small curve giving the leg the illusion that it is submerged under the water.

Next, you will need to tidy up your picture.
To do this rub out all your guidelines so that you're left with just the outline of your baby elephant.
