This painting of a nude by William Bouguereau titled Venus with doves features a beautiful naked young woman standing alone with doves flying about her. She is of a slim build with small breasts and narrow hips. She appears to be standing in a woodland clearing with head cocked slightly to her left and she is looking down towards her elbow and appears to be brushing some thing from her body with her left hand (a feather perhaps).
The doves in this piece are painted almost in a ghost like manner possibly with the intent of symbolising movement, grace, purity and unconditional love.
The above account is my interpretation of the work and should in no way be taken as fact.
